Brief Introduction: Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, the M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Los Angeles. She is currently a professor in the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include communication networks and dynamical systems. She served as IEEE Division X Delegate/Director, President of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, and President of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Dr. Trajkovic serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Systems Engineering. She served as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and System Society and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. She is a Fellow of the IEEE.
Prof. Giuseppe Carbone (Inviting)

Brief Introduction: Giuseppe Carbone was born in Salerno, Italy, in 1972. He received the master’s degree (cum laude) and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Cassino, Italy, where he is being a key member of the Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics (LARM) for about 20 years.,From 2015 to 2017, he was a Senior Lecturer with Sheffield Hallam University, U.K., and a member of the executive board of Sheffield Robotics. Since 2019, he has been an Associate Professor with DIMEG, University of Calabria, Italy. He edited/co-edited four books with Springer International Publisher. He has been participating or coordinating more than 20 research projects at national and international level, including 7th European Framework and Horizon 2020. His research interests include aspects of mechanics of manipulation and grasp, mechanics of robots, and mechanics of machinery with more than 300 published articles and over ten patent submissions. He has received several awards, including three IFToMM “Young Delegate” Awards and two JSPS Awards in Japan. He is currently the Deputy Chair of IFToMM Technical Committee on Robotics and Mechatronics, the Deputy Chair of the Youth Committee of the Society of Bionics and Biomechanics, and a Treasurer of the IFToMM Italy Society.
Prof. Dimitrios Karamanis (Inviting)

Brief Introduction: Professor of Alternative Energy Sources at the University of Patras leading the group of Renewable Energy Sources and Cool Environment. He studied Physics at the University of Ioannina (1986-1990) where he submitted his doctoral thesis (1990-1997). With Postdoctoral Fellowships at CEN Bordeaux (Marie Curie 1999-2001) and University of Ioannina (Marie Curie 2001-2002 and until 2008), Prof. Karamanis has thirty-four years of research experience in the fields of alternative energy sources with special emphasis on wind and solar energy utilization technologies in the last fifteen years. Participating in competitive National and International research programs as scientific coordinator and researcher, he has published over 110 scientific papers in scientific journals, patents and chapters in books with >3800 citations and h-index 38 (Scopus). He serves as Associate Editor of Green Technologies and Sustainability (Elsevier/KeAi) and Guest Editor for Energy&Buildings (Elsevier). Prof. Karamanis teaches courses on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and RES applications in Departments of the Universities of Ioannina and Patras since 2006.
